My Property Journey
Investments shaped by global insight and care
My journey in property investment has been both strategic and deeply hands-on. Since 2011, I’ve built a portfolio of nine rental properties, each selected and managed with a long-term view on value and community impact. Beyond buy-and-hold investing, I’ve successfully executed property developments and property trades (house flips) — identifying undervalued assets, renovating with quality and purpose, and selling for strong returns.
As President of the Taranaki Property Investors Association (TPIA) , I lead with a focus on education, ethical investing, and peer collaboration. I believe property is more than a financial vehicle—it’s a way to shape environments, empower others, and build enduring legacy.

Rental Portfolio
I own and manage a portfolio of nine residential rental properties across the North Island New Zealand, professionally overseen by property managers. These include:
- 3 properties in Hamilton
- 3 properties in Rotorua
- 1 property in Auckland
- 1 property in Wellington,
- 1 property in New Plymouth
The portfolio comprises a mix of townhouses and standalone homes, ranging from 2 to 4 bedrooms. Each property has been renovated beyond the Healthy Homes standards, ensuring warm, comfortable, and high-quality living environments for tenants.
My focus is on long-term value creation, tenant satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of presentation and compliance.

Development
This award-nominated development involved the transformation of a 1960s property on a large 1,045 m² section into a high-performing, triple-dwelling investment. The project included:
- Relocating and renovating the original house to create a modern, insulated, open-plan home with upgraded internal laundry, rewiring, and full Healthy Homes compliance.
- Designing and building two new dwellings with Classic Builders, incorporating robust materials, heat pump dryers, thermal curtains, and moisture control features to exceed Healthy Homes standards.
- Navigating subdivision and zoning changes, including Rotorua’s adoption of the Medium Density Residential Standard (MDRS), enabling the creation of three separate titles and increasing equity.
- Managing tenant transitions and site safety, including resolving legacy tenant issues and staging construction to minimise disruption.
The project delivered:
$2,010 per week in rental income (up from $500)
- $380,000 in equity gain
- Two new-build homes
- 4-bedroom with one and half bathrooms
- 3-bedroom with one bathroom
- One re-configured and fully renovated home
- 3-bedroom with one bathroom
- Runner-up in NZPIF Renovation of the Year
This development showcases strategic planning, hands-on execution, and a commitment to creating warm, durable homes that uplift tenants and build long-term value.

Property Trades
I’ve also completed two successful renovation trades in South Auckland:
Manurewa:
Renovated a standalone home with updated flooring, bathroom enhancements including extra toilet, and exterior refresh. The property was staged and sold post-renovation, generating strong returns.
Otara:
Acquired a distressed property, completed targeted renovations including interior painting, kitchen upgrades, and compliance improvements, then sold for a capital gain. This included floor plan changes.
These trades reflect my ability to identify underperforming assets, execute cost-effective renovations, and time exits to maximise value.
